United Cab of Tampa is the only cab company in Tampa that uses GPS in its dispatch system. We are able to locate the closest cab to the customer, and send them a taxi in a very timely fashion. It has been a long and hard struggle getting this system installed and working out the bugs, but I really believe in the long run (next season) it will all be worth it.
I am getting Google searches on my site from people that live in California wanting to know which company in Tampa uses the GPS system. That is a good sign. It could be an organizer of a major convention that wants to know about the logistics of transportation in our city, and if we are with the modern times. We are now, and we have veriphone credit card machines installed in every cab for the convenience of the customer. It will even print out a receipt.
This will come in handy next Summer when the GOP Republican National Convention will be in downtown Tampa. We need to be professional so we can show off our city as Donald Trumps gives his acceptance speech.
United Cab has entered the modern age. A good motto for United Cab would be "Ride into the future."
Most of the places I've visited still don't have a GPS in their dispatching system. Drivers need this gadget, especially cab drivers who travel a lot and go to different places every day. I'm also looking forward to a credit based payment for passengers. ;)
