I was pulled over today by one of the HCPTC cabbie cops today. His name is Joe Halbistron. He gave me a ticket for not wearing a collared shirt. Can you believe that? The fine is $30 and my license will be suspended in 30 days if I don't pay it. You would think they appreciate all the things I do above the call of duty, like helping the elderly cross the street, loading luggage, giving directions to tourist, being an information booth to the public, but they don't. I tried to tell this guy that I have been having a really hard time lately. I am working round the clock (because of the environment that HCPTC has created), I live alone, and have not been able to get to the laundry mat. I have no energy when I get home to load up and go do this. I was showered, and wearing clean clothes and providing great service. They do not care. They want my money. Is he just another cop fucking with a law abiding citizen because he can, or is it more than that? It is much more than that.
The HCPTC has a slush fund. They are the only agency of its kind in the State of Florida. They make up laws as they go along and have grown a fund which was once over $800,000. Why would they need this much money? Is this the Nixon White House? What is worse, is that the County Commission is the only overseer of this org, and they have Gestapo like power.
The fines they charge to cab drivers go to things like the $150,000 software system they recently purchased for their agency that employs only nine people. Wow. They are also spending another $300,000 to expand their office space, so they will be better equipped to charge even more fines to cab and limo drivers. They won't even let a driver from another county pick up here without arresting them. They can pick up, but it will cost them $5,000 which goes into the slush fund.
The County Commission overseas their activities...That is the problem. We know as of Friday that Keven White (the head of the Commission) is corrupt. He was found guilty in court of sexual harassment of a 22 year old women. If she was any younger, he would be a child molester.
Yet he wants my $30 for not wearing a collard shirt. Maybe I should just wear my boxer shorts, like he had on when he was laying in the bed next to that girl while wanting to get some of that ass. How much of my money did you spend to do that Keven White?
I shower twice a day, wear clean clothes, I speak English, I have lived in Tampa longer than you have been alive, I am a total asset to this community, but you want muscle-bound Joe Halbistran give me ticket that I cannot afford to pay because YOU have allowed to many taxi licenses and now allowed Yellow cab to give FREE rides because it looks good for public relations while giving the Minarti boys a kick back from the slush fund that my $30 went to.
Damn. You talk about a cluster fuck!

Demand to see in their special act, chapter 2001-299 L.O.F. where the Florida Legislature specifically has granted the PTC authority to enact any rules pertaining to dress or grooming standards.
The PTC is mandated under law to adopt rules in conformance with the Florida Administrative Procedures Act (ch 120 F.S.) The PTC needs to set forth legal authority for each rule. If they can't, the rule is an invalid exercise of delegated authority.

Gee I would have never guess that Mr. Tim is still driving. I am sure that with Tim's ability he will be fine. Don'tg really think he will have to fly a sign.

In case anyone was concerned, I saw Tim in the cab today on Westshore blvd in Tampa. As we assumed, he was bs'ing again. Looks like he is fine. Oh yeah, and he was wearing a collared shirt!

Hey Tim, I love your posts. Even your neo-conservative bullshit. Don't let a few remarks dissuade you you. However I know it costs money to support a website. Hell if I lived in Tampa right now I'd let you crash at my place.

This is in response to "that's being called a sissy". Who gives you the right to put Tim down like that. Do you even know him? How do you know he isn't a good cab driver, as a matter of fact he is a good cab driver. He is not someone who drives a cab. But considering the fact that you won't even put a name at the end of your post that tell me what kind of turd you are. No that is not a misprint. Stick that in your ear. Wouldn't surprise me if you are the "sissy"

I agree with you, Sawbriar. Tim = Nice Guy - Intelligent - deserves compassion, etc. What "selfish reasons" do you think I would have for criticizing Tim? He needs help for his drunken rage. Further, he consistently insists he is going to do something (usually when he is in a drunken stupor), then never follows through. Maybe if he actually did what he said he was going to do (IE: run for political office, quit the cab company, etc), he would not need our sympathy. This guy is self destructing before us and someone needs to get in his face and set him straight.

Tim has a lot of issues no doubt about that but basically he is a good guy, intelligent and right on target about most topics.
Some here for whatever reason want to put him down(can anyone say selfish reasons) but I think he deserves everyone's support--especially his fellow cabbies.
He has a lot of talent and this site is one of the best cabbie websights in the nation if not the best.
Hopefully Tim will find someway to sustain himself and keep this site going.

Like most old cab drivers, one day they'll find him in his cab, dead; heart attack or obese or just plain tired or wore out or whatever. My question to you: you call your self a cab driver you son of a bitch? Or are a you bum with a big mouth? DONT FUCKING SAY IT, IF YOU'RE NOT GONNA FOLLOW THROUGH! That's called being a fucking punk.

Tim's not going anywhere today, Larry. You know it and i know it. He pulled this stunt a couple weeks ago during his video tirade about being homeless. He was supposed to quit the next day. Similar to his promised run for Congress. Or the time he was going to storm the internal affairs office of the Hillsborough county Sheriff, when he was removed from the Port of Tampa for loitering (And I happen to know that Deputy Eurp is a stand up guy. Tim knew internal affairs would find no wrong doing). He even vowed to sue them if internal affairs did not satisfy him. None of this ever happened. Tim's does not follow through. Never does, and this is why he is in the situation he is. He's full of hate and rage, and it seems lately that anything sets him over the edge.
Yes, there are plenty of places he could go and work, where his knowledge of Hillsborough county would be utilized, but he'd rather bitch all the time, rather then do something about it. And Tim would never make it in an office environment. To many rules. He can't even follow the rules now, case in point, refusing to wear a collared shirt so that cab drivers can present some degree of professionalism while doing their job. He sounded like an 18 y/o kid bitching about not being able to wear a t-shirt while working at the Walmart. Maybe he needs to on a sasquatch hunting expedition or UFO chasing with the rest of the whack nuts. He needs to get away and work through these rage issues.

When I was driving for Tampa Taxi, I got the munchies one night and went out for a ride in my cab to get a burger (Was living in Palmetto Beach). I was still wearing my pajamas. I pulled into the McDonalds parking lot in Ybor and some kids flagged me down. They just needed me to drive them through the drive-through. I did and they bought me some food. Coming back down 7th I got flagged down again. I picked them up. The guy commented about my pajamas. Long story short I might have taken a call or two on the radio, but I came home with 60 extra dollars in my pocket, plus I got my burger. At least I can say I did have some good experiences when I drove. I'll tell yall about the blowjob story next time.

Correct me if I am wrong. Is tomorrow Monday. Are you still going to do something else for a living? If that be the case use the bond money, when you get it,wisely. Maybe you should consider putting good ole BUD on hold for awhile. There are companies out there that could use someone that knows Tampa like you do. The Salvation Army sometimes need dispatcher that know the city. Drivers too. Don't know what they pay nowdays but what difference does it make, as long as it is money. The #2 bus goes to Beares and Fletcher and it is a 10 minute walk. Just information Tim. One more idea, our friend Dean drives for a medical courier check with him.
